Bucket Stilts

Stilt Safari is a creative balance activity where students walk on bucket stilts while pretending to be animals moving through different environments. After reviewing safe stilt use and setting clear boundaries, students spread out in a designated “safari zone” and move as the teacher calls out terrains or animals. For example, students take slow, heavy steps through a muddy swamp, lift high knees to step over jungle vines, use tiny careful steps on icy paths, or take wide steps across rocky trails. The focus is on walking slowly, staying balanced, and controlling movements rather than speed.
